Guided Studies 6
Guided Studies is a class designed to provide support for students in their four academic classes (English, Math, Science, and Social Studies). Guided Studies will also assist with students’ organization and study skills. This class will adapt and change based on students’ needs. Some days will be whole group activities, while other days will be small group activities. Students will work with peer tutors throughout the year.
Class Objectives: Students will take responsibility for their learning Students will develop study skills that will help them prepare for daily assignment completion, long-term assignments and assessments Students will believe in themselves and their ability to perform well in the classroom Expectations: Be Respectful Be Responsible Be Ready to learn Materials: Pencil and Pen Binder Math Spiral Grading Scale: Students will not receive a letter grade in this class Students will earn a grade of “pass” or a grade of “fail” 70% and above = Pass; below 70% = Fail Points will be awarded based on participation and completion of class work assignments Participation: Every student has the ability to succeed, if he/she is willing to put forth the effort. Because of this, students are expected to participate daily in this class. If he/she chooses not to participate or complete assigned tasks, he/she will not receive the points for participation and/or completion of task. Communication: This class is designed for you.
