Homework Home

Homework is assigned as a review for what was learned in class.  You are expected to complete each assignment nightly.  Homework is practice.  Think about it... if you play on a soccer team, but never attend practice, would you expect yourself to become a better soccer player?  Probably not, and you wouldn't get much playing time.  School works the same way.  You can't become a better student without practice!

Homework will be assigned nightly.  It is your responsibility to bring the completed assignment to class on its due date so that your teacher can check it for completion.  More importantly, we will correct the assignment in class to check your understanding of the material.  If you have questions about specific homework problems or concepts, be sure to ask!

Homework Procedures
  • Homework will be assigned in class.  It is your job to write it in your assignment notebook.  If you are absent, be sure to check the website or class a friend to determine what you missed.
  • Homework will be checked for completion at the beginning of the class period.  Please have your homework on your desk, so I can check it off as completed.
  • After warm-up, we will review the answers to the homework problems.  (Odd homework problems from the textbook should be corrected at home by using the selected answers section in the back of the textbook.)
  • When correcting homework, it is your job to make corrections with a correcting pen and to ask questions if you don't understand a problem.
  • Be sure to keep all homework assignments organized in your math spiral, so you have them available to review / study before a quiz or test.

Homework Grading
  • 1 point - homework is complete and all work is shown
  • 1/2 point  - homework is not complete
  • 0 points - assignment is missing
