The focus of this course is on Earth and Space Science. Scientific and engineering practices, disciplinary core ideas, and crosscutting concepts work together to support students in making sense of phenomena and/or designing solutions to problems. We will explore three units during the year: Geosphere, Atmosphere and Hydrosphere, and Earth's Place in the Solar System. Throughout the course, students will have various opportunities to design and build models to explain scientific phenomena. Outdoor School is also included in the sixth grade curriculum giving students the opportunity to experience first-hand what Earth Science is all about.
